Explanation: City voucher

The city voucher module allows users to top up their own credit or give it as a gift. The credit can be redeemed at participating retailers, restaurants or service providers. There is also the option to use bonus points and promotional coupons for purchases. Points are collected with every purchase with Awiti, which the user can use for their own purchases or donate to local charitable organizations. Awiti thus serves as a local instrument for promoting a variety of value chains. Last but not least, employers benefit from the employee voucher function, which can be used as a tax-free non-cash benefit to motivate employees.

QR code

The central voucher element is the QR code: The city voucher can be used both as a physical card and as an app. The QR code is used to top up or pay at participating top-up stations and retailers.

Voucher card

The city voucher offers a physical card in cheque card format, while there is also the option of offering the voucher as a digital "print@home" version with a QR code. The voucher card can be used to pay at participating retailers. The card can be topped up at participating top-up points (e.g. local banks or retailers) or online via the Awiti app.

Of course, the gift card can also be purchased as a gift card. With the large selection of participating local retailers, it is the ideal gift for different occasions. The design of the card can be individually adapted to the respective region. It is also possible to design the card yourself. An example design is shown in the following graphic:

Awiti App

Paper-only systems are cumbersome and not particularly popular with customers. We have therefore designed Awiti as a completely digital solution. At its heart is the specially programmed app, so that customers need nothing more than their smartphone to use the city voucher. The app is used to check points and account balances, top up vouchers and carry out transactions. This is future-oriented and environmentally friendly.

Analog and digital can be combined here: The app allows the customer to view and top up the current balance on the physical card. The points collected are also displayed. In addition, the customer can view all participating partners in the region at a glance and check which coupons and points can be redeemed for which promotions at which partner. The customer also has the option of using the Awiti app completely independently without a physical card, topping up their credit and using it for purchases. A QR code is used for this in the same way as with the physical card.

Give away local products

With a large selection of participating local retailers, the Awiti Card is the ideal gift for a variety of occasions. The Awiti Card can be purchased at all top-up stations (e.g. banks or retailers) with any desired balance. For example, the balance of the voucher can be chosen to match the birthday age or €44 vouchers can be given as a tax-free gift from the employer (more information on this module can be found atemployee voucher).

It is also possible to give away the voucher in PDF format with a QR code. These vouchers are generated dynamically and can be created in any format, depending on the client's wishes. Graphic format templates are also available for this purpose. The PDF voucher can be downloaded, sent by e-mail or digitally. The desired credit can also be specified here.

Coupon and points promotions

Voucher cards are now much more than just gift cards that are used once. With Awiti, we are bringing coupon and points promotions, which are particularly popular with large national companies, to the region and connecting small retailers. Participating retailers can post their promotions via the Awiti app and customers become aware of the promotions of retailers in their area. A perfect opportunity to try out the new café around the corner!

Coupon campaigns

With coupon promotions such as "50% discount on our cinnamon buns", retailers can offer their customers exclusive offers. A promotion period can be defined as well as a description explaining the benefits and conditions of the coupon promotion.

Points actions

For the points promotions, the customer must have collected a certain number of bonus points with purchases via the voucher system. These can then be redeemed for a promotion. For example, the retailer can offer a cappuccino for 100 points in a points promotion. When the points promotion is redeemed, the retailer receives the corresponding value of bonus points credited to their account. The region determines how many euros correspond to one point (for example: 100 points correspond to €1).

Bonus points

With every purchase with Awiti, bonus points are collected (if the region uses this function), which the user can redeem for promotions or donate to local charitable organizations. Awiti thus serves as a local instrument for promoting a variety of value chains.

Collect bonus points

The points collection process takes place in the customer account. Here, wage bonuses and other top-ups are collected in a trust account provided by the local bank specifically for the operator. As a rule, 1% of the money spent is collected in the form of bonus points and can then be used in two ways: Donate bonus points or collect bonus points 'for me'.

Donate bonus points

The bonus points collected by the customer are converted into real money and can be donated voluntarily to an association or local organization. To do this, the account of the object must be stored in the system. A transaction is made from the customer account to the account of the organization.

Collect for me

The bonus points collected by the customer can be redeemed for purchases in a participating store. This boosts the local economy, brings with it the "me" motivation for consumption that Payback is known for and strengthens customer loyalty to local retailers.

Payment processing

Cooperation with local banks creates trust and transparency. We rely on cooperation with European payment service providers and work with Klarna, finAPI and VR Payment. All Awiti payment processes are carried out with these partners and are based on the PSD2 standard. The needs of our customers are particularly important to us and we offer the desired payment methods.

The money is held by the respective participating institutions and is managed locally via local trust accounts. Awiti manages the payment flows.
